Nous avons vu dans les derniers articles toutes les nouveautés qui vont arriver avec la prochaine mouture du serveur d’administration 7.0. Il me reste encore quelques informations à partager toujours concernant ce produit. Cette fois-ci, il s’agit des améliorations coté présentation, utilisation, performance du produit. Je vous laisse en juger de vous-même.

Usability improvements

1. Integrated package, including all required for the antivirus protection in the network – MS SQL Express, KAV for WKS, KAV for FS, AdminKit.

1. AdminKit Simplified “standard” installation.

1. “Out of the box” antivirus protection. The only required step from the administrator is to deploy KAV for WKS and KAV for FS with the help of remote installation wizard. All components of antivirus protection work with default settings and does not require configuration (support from KAV for WKS, KAV for FS is required).

1. “Getting started” page shows current status of AV protection and all steps/actions required to have antivirus protecton up and running.

1. Redesigned user interface, including support for “Introduction mode” and “Standard mode”.

1. Redesigned HTML taskpads, explaining main concepts of the administration system.

1. HTML views for the policies and tasks. Direct access to the required part of settings using HTML views.

1. 3D graphics in graphs, reports and dashboards.

1. Automatic distribution of licenses for the new computers with installed antivirus (support from the KAV for WKS, FS is required).

1. New graphical design of AdminKit console

Performance improvements

1. Product settings synchronization is optimized.

1. Administration server will be optimized for the 50000 clients per one server.

1. Virus activity report performance is optimized.

1. Policies are distributed with the help of multicasting (if possible).

Reliability improvements

1. Protection from the currupted filesystem are added for the storages of products settings.

1. Last IP address of the AdminKit server is stored and client tries to connect to the server using these address in case primary address defined by administrator is unavailable.

1. A mechanism to collect data from slave servers has been implemented to persist over loss of connection between servers.

1. An error classification has been introduced for application remote install errors and troubleshooting recommendations are provided for typical problems.

1. Additional measures are added to protect agent from the possible problems in the managed application.

1. An mechanism is added to restore agent functionality in case of corrupted settings.

1. It will be possible to start administration server under account without local administrator rights.

Le logiciel de collection d’informations sur les ordinateurs distants qui sera inclu donc dans la prochaine version de l’Admin Kit a déjà été décrit un post précédent. C’est tellement pratique, je me réjouis de l’avoir directement dans la console.

Bon, pour le moment c’est tout côté nouvelles de l’Admin Kit 7.0. Bien évidemment, je reviendrai sur le sujet dès que j’aurai d’autres infos à vous présenter.
